Please note that this coin is a restrike. Restrikes of this coin were struck in 1961 and 1962 by the Spanish Mint using original dies. The year of the restrike was engraved on the dies within the stars on either side of the date of the original issue (1897).
The 1897(62)-SGV Spain 100 Pesetas Alfonso XIII Gold Coin PCGS MS 63 is now available for purchase from Bullion Exchanges! The coin comes graded by PCGS as Mint State 63 and is made from 90% gold.
The obverse features the bust of Alfonso XII, the King of Spain from 1874 to 1885. Inscriptions include: "ALFONSO XII", "POR LA G. DE DIOS", and the year of mintage.
The reverse displays the crowned arms of Spain. Inscriptions include "REY CONST. DE ESPANA" as well as the denomination.
