The State National Bank Of Saint Louis in Missouri printed almost 20 million dollars worth of national currency when it was in service. Some $20 notes from 1882 feature a blue seal on the front, with the 1882 and 1908 written on the reverse (back). Because of this, these blue seal 1882 Currency Notes are known as "Date Backs".

The obverse features the Battle of Lexington on the left side while Columbia leads a procession on the right. Inscriptions include "This Note Is Secured By Bonds Of The United States Or Other Securities", "THE STATE NATIONAL BANK OF ST. LOUIS", and the note's denomination.

The reverse displays two bald eagles (one on each end), the years 1882 and 1908, and the note's denomination.
