1 oz Silver Buffalo Design Generic Rounds .999 Fine
Dealer's Pick: the designs may all be the same or vary.
These Silver Buffalo Rounds are generic rounds produced by various private mints. The difference between a silver “round” and a silver “coin” is that a round is not a legal tender and has no face value. While the mint that produces these rounds may vary, this allows you to buy them with even lower premiums and a closer spot price.
The design for this Buffalo Silver Round was taken from the original coin’s artwork created by sculptor James Earle Fraser’s and has a rich history behind it. The original Buffalo Silver coin known as “Indian Head Nickel” was minted in 1913-1937 and considered by many as one of the best coins in American coinage.
The coin’s obverse depicts the right profile of a Native American, inspired by three famous chefs: Two Moons of the Cheyenne, Big Tree of the Kiowa, and Iron Tall of the Lakota. The artwork is completed with the word “Liberty” printed toward the top right of the round.
The coin’s reverse features the left profile of an American Bison standing on top of small hill. This Bison is more well-known as “Black Diamond”, a 1550 pound American Bison that lived in Central Park Zoo at the time James Fraser created the Indian Head Nickel.
These generic rounds are minted from .999 fine silver, and all produced to the same standard weight of 1 troy ounce. This low premium silver round is an excellent way to diversify your precious metals portfolio.
Reverse: Depicts American Bison well-known as a “Black Diamond”. Inscriptions vary depending on the refinery.
