Founded in 1671, Mocatta Bullion Brokerage was one of the oldest members of the London bullion market. Later on in 1684, the firm was joined by Asher Goldsmid and Mocatta & Goldsmid was created. Nowadays the company is known as Scotia-Mocatta, after a recent acquisition of the company by Scotiabank.
