Rothschild & Sons London Raw 58.3 grams ("5 Tolas") .996 Fine Gold Bar
This 5 Tolas (1.875 oz) pure gold bar is approximately 50-60 years old and is a private, scarce, nonstandard issue. The tola is a traditional Indian unit of weight (0.375 troy oz).
Nathan Rothschild began to deal in bullion in 1809. In 1836, NM Rothschild & Sons were founded. In 1840, it became the bullion broker to the Bank of England, and twelve years later it took the lease of the Royal Mint Refinery. Over the following century, the Royal Mint Refinery diversified to deal with a range of medals. From 1919 until 2004, the five-member banks of the London Gold Fix would meet face-to-face at the offices of NM Rothschild to determine the price of gold. Today, NM Rothschild & Sons is a major multinational investment bank, with 50 offices worldwide.
On this rare gold bar is the inscription "N.M. ROTHSCHILD & SONS – 996 FINE – LONDON". Like this bar, almost all Tola bars are cast with rounded edges.
Like all of our other gold bars, this one is guaranteed to be 100% authentic. Item will be wrapped and packaged safely for delivery.
