Each release showcased both Eastern and Western interpretations of the mythical unicorn—a symbol of good fortune and prosperity. In Chinese tradition, the unicorn, or Qilin, is a legendary creature with the head of a dragon, antlers of a deer, scales of a fish, hooves of an ox, and the tail of a lion. Revered as an omen of peace and abundance, the Qilin was even linked to the giraffe during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) when the famous admiral Zheng He brought giraffes to China from Africa, sparking the association between the two.
