2017 American Liberty Gold Coin

There are a lot of expectations for the upcoming 2017 American Liberty Gold Coin. The United States Mint will release this stunning 2017 American Liberty Gold Coin. Furthermore, at the official press conference in Washington D.C. on January, 12 the final information about the coin’s design came out.  Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew, Deputy Treasury Secretary - Sarah Bloom Raskin, and the United States Mint Principal Deputy Director Rhett Jeppson gave the information.

2017 American Liberty Gold Coin

The U.S.Mint will celebrate its 225th Anniversary in April 2017. Also, it marks its long-term and successful business. The Artistic Infusion Program of designers and US Mint sculptors created several design images of an anniversary coin for a promotional brochure in 2016. Yet, after a small delay, the US Mint confirmed the design at a ceremony held at the Treasury Department’s Cash Room. This significant event was live over the web on the 225th Anniversary website set by US Mint. Additionally, American tv channels were reporting this conference as a historical event.

Additional details about the upcoming series release:

• 2017 W 1 oz $100 American Liberty High Relief Proof Gold Coin- US Mint 225th Anniversary will release on April 6!  The official U.S. Mint 225th anniversary will be on April 2nd, 2017.
• Obverse
• The design is unique in that it features Lady Liberty as an African-American woman. Her head crowns with four stars. It symbolizes the Statue of Freedom upon the U.S. Capitol dome. This design is very exclusive, comparing with the classic American coins. This impressive artwork is a result of a collaboration. This is by AIP designer Justin Kunz and sculptor-engraver - Phoebe Hemphill. The inscriptions on the obverse: “LIBERTY,” “1792,” “2017,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST”.

• Reverse

• The reverse depicts a bold and powerful eagle in flight. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "1OZ. .9999 FINE GOLD," and "100 DOLLARS." It is by designer Chris Costello.

• U.S. Mint announced it would inscribe “225th ANNIVERSARY” on both sides of the coin’s edge.

• This $100 American Liberty High Relief coin will strike in .9999 fine 24-karat gold. Additionally, it will be in high relief with a proof finish. It will mint at West Point Mint in New York. Also, the coin will house in a US Mint black wood presentation case. Finally, it will accompany a 225th Anniversary booklet with a Certificate of Authenticity.

U.S. Mint press release informs us that this is the first coin in a series of 24-karat gold coins. They will feature designs of the allegorical Liberties in a variety of forms. These include Asian-American, Indian-American, and Hispanic-American. Additionally, there will be others to show the cultural and ethnic diversity of the United States of America. The mission of this US Mint series represents the traditional ideas of liberty and hope. It gives a hint of the possibilities that the future holds.
