Gold Spot Price today decreased to $1,221.70 (-0.62%) per ounce, Silver Price $16.25 (-0.79%), Platinum Price $908.40 (-1.52%), Palladium Price $800.20 (-1.42%), Dow Jones index 21043.94 (0.15% increase).

U.S. Dollar vs Precious metals

U.S. Dollar Index futures are trading higher on Tuesday.  Increased demand  explained by the expectations for the higher risk assets Fed rate hike in June. Traders are also buying the dollar ahead of speeches by a few Fed members today. Gold prices hit their lowest level in nearly eight weeks on Tuesday. This is as safe-haven demand goes down on clarified political worries after Emmanuel Macron’s victory. France's presidential election was one of the largest political risk events affected markets recently. Analysts said Macron's victory calmed investors' worries over a potential breakup of the eurozone or the European Union. Le Pen claimed in her campaign promise to scrap the euro in favor of reintroducing the French franc. Which could have spelled trouble for the European Union. Silver price slightly dropped, platinum and palladium prices also fell on Tuesday morning. Investors consider that the combination of a strong dollar, rising global bond yields and a further decline in the volatility index has undermined support for precious metals prices.

Stock Market Today

U.S. stock market on Tuesday opened higher S&P 500 2402.93 (+0.15%) and NASDAQ Index 6129.17 (+0.43%), Dow Jones Industrial Average 21043.94 (+0.15%). US stock Indexes are trading higher with Europe mostly stability after election. So now international markets focused to shift to French legislative elections in June. These will be crucial for determining Macron's ability to implement his economic program.  The latest job-openings data will be released today, but there are no major US economic releases until Friday (Consumer Price Index)  which will tend to move market activity. Economic data for today: Small Business Optimism Index, JOLTS job openings for March.
