WHY COLLECT GRADED COINS?

The coin grading system, developed in 1949 by Dr. William Sheldon, assigns coins a specific numerical value based on a variety of factors including rarity and condition, among others. The scale starts at 1 and reaches up to 70, the highest grade. Coins graded PF (for proof) or MS (for BU) 70 contain no visible flaws or imperfections at 5x magnification. As such, collectors and investors frequently add PF 69 and 70 coins to their portfolios to increase the overall value.
