For many folks, the United States of America is the greatest country in the world. There are the accomplishments and events in its storied history. Additionally, it is blessed to have a wonderfully diverse landscape. A landscape that inspires people every day to write songs, books, and capture the beauty in pictures and paintings. The U.S. is lucky to have millions of square miles of land that the law protects. The sole purpose? For enjoyment by its citizens. The U.S. Mint’s America the Beautiful Series commemorates the sheer beauty and splendor of all of America’s national parks and monuments. This latest release captures the beauty of the Voyageurs National Park. This park's location is in northern Minnesota, right below Canada. This US Mint produces a series of coins on an annual basis. Secondly, five coins release every year. These coins are part of a broader collection of 56-- that capture the magnitude of what truly makes America great. How? By enshrining subtle details on these silver coins. This program started in 2008 with the authorization of America’s Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act. Each coin features sites in specific release order. This is by when America first established the national park or heritage site. Minnesota's slogan “Land of 10,000 Lakes” beautifully captures Minnesota’s majestic beauty. The Voyageurs National Park derives its name from the French-Canadian trappers and fur traders that operated in that area throughout the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The park features about 40% of its total landmass as waterways, lakes, and streams. Together they create a beautiful interconnected web. And, provide thousands of miles of shoreline that hikers and campers utilize every year.
