2026 Best of the US Mint 1804 Silver Dollar Medal PCGS SP 69 FS (250th Ann.)
Celebrate the far-reaching legacy of the American dollar with the 2026 Best of the US Mint 1804 Silver Dollar Medal PCGS SP 69 FS (250th Ann.). Originally issued as the silver companion medal in the U.S. Mint's 2026 Best of the Mint 1804 Silver Dollar Gold Coin and Silver Medal Set, this collectible offers a contemporary artistic interpretation of one of America's most legendary numismatic themes. Produced by the United States Mint at the Philadelphia facility, the medal contains 1 troy oz of .999 fine silver and has been certified PCGS SP 69 First Strike (FS).
The U.S. Mint created the Best of the Mint Series for America's 2026 Semiquincentennial, revisiting celebrated designs from the nation's rich coinage history. The fourth release honors the famous 1804 Draped Bust Silver Dollar, often referred to as the “King of American Coins.”
The original U.S. Mint release consists of two complementary pieces: a 24-karat gold coin that revives the historic 1804 Dollar design and this one-ounce .999 fine silver medal, which approaches the theme from a distinctly modern perspective. Rather than simply duplicating the gold coin's artwork in silver, the medal was designed as its own artistic expression of the dollar's history and influence.
The silver medal draws inspiration from recognizable elements of the classic 1804 Dollar while transforming them into an abstract contemporary composition. Flowing forms inspired by Liberty's hair are combined with elements recalling the clouds found above the heraldic eagle on the original dollar's reverse.
