The Peace Dollar was initially struck in 1921 when it replaced the Morgan Silver Dollar. It remained in circulation until 1928, then in 1934 and 1935, and once again introduced in 2021. A contest was held to find the best design to feature on the Peace Silver Dollar. Anthony de Francisci won, and his work appears on the coin to this day. The Peace Dollar represents the United States of America emerging as an international power after World War I, while also honoring those that served and ultimately led the country to victory and peace.
