Initially designed by mint Chief engraver George T. Morgan in 1878, the Morgan Silver Dollar represents westward expansion and advanced industrialization. The Morgan Dollars were produced until 1904 and then again in 1921 until they were replaced later that year with the Peace Dollar. These silver dollars were minted again in 2021 to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the original transition from Morgan to Peace dollars. The new Morgan Silver Dollar is created using a combination of modern and classic US mint technology.

The obverse displays a left-facing profile of Lady Liberty wearing a cap and crown. Also included are 13 stars and inscriptions.

The reverse features an eagle with open wings, holding arrows, and an olive branch in its talons.
