For over 1,100 years the British Royal Mint has produced trustworthy coins, and this 2023 Great Britain 1 oz Silver Britannia King Charles III Coin is no exception! The famous image of Britannia, the divine personification of Britain, represents Britain’s power and influence. Showcasing Philip Nathan’s beloved Britannia design, each coin is struck with four innovative security features that add visual details and include anti-counterfeit technology. The first feature is a new background wave pattern, which makes the surface glisten as its hit by light. The second is the inclusion of smooth lines on Britannia’s shield. The third is the addition of a hologram on the bottom left of the reverse which transforms from a padlock to a trident as you move the coin. The fourth feature is the micro-engraved phrase “Decus Et Tutamen” along the inner rim.
The obverse showcases the first coinage effigy of His Majesty King Charles III over a background wave pattern and surrounded by inscriptions.
The reverse features a depiction of Britannia standing proudly on a rock with a shield in her left hand and a trident in her outstretched right hand. The hologram is placed near the bottom of the trident and the micro-engraved text is to the right of the shield.
