Bullion Exchanges is proud to offer the new Graded 2022-W 1 oz $50 Proof Gold American Buffalo. This classic Gold American Buffalo coin contains .9999 fine gold and weighs 1 troy ounce. Although this coin carries a face value of $50, its value in gold content greatly exceeds that amount, making it a precious collectible. This Gold American Buffalo has been graded a perfect Proof 70 by PCGS and has received a First Strike designation. This means the coin was received for grading within the first 30 days of its release. Add one of these beautiful Buffalo Coins to your collection today!

The obverse of the Gold American Buffalo coin features a modified version of the Buffalo Nickel design by James Earle Fraser. Buffalo Nickels were 5-cent coins minted from 1913 until 1938. This image features a portrait of a Native American man whose portrait was a combination of three different tribal chiefs that posed for Fraser. The chiefs were from the Big Tree, Iron Tail, and Two Moons tribes. In Fraser’s design, the head of a Native American Man faces to the right, showing off his feathered headdress and braids.

The reverse of the coin display the American Bison grazing on a grassy field. This illustration was reportedly inspired by a 1,550-pound American Buffalo named Black Diamond who lived in the Central Park Zoo in the 1910s.
