For this coin, Van Gogh’s painting entitled “Wheat Field with Cypresses” was chosen. This painting is known for its detailed brushstrokes and vivid colors, which are expertly displayed on the coin thanks to the smartminting® (Ultra High Relief) technology! Van Gogh tragically took his own life in 1890, however, his art can be found in museums worldwide. 

The obverse of this coin depicts an artist sitting before a canvas, working on a painting. The effigy of Queen Elizabeth II is masterfully featured as the artwork on the canvas. Inscriptions sit within the canvas as well.
