A pysanka is a Ukrainian Easter egg that is decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax-resist method. The pysanka gets its name from the verb pysaty, which means "to write/to inscribe”. This is because the designs are not painted on but rather written with beeswax.

The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, surrounded by inscriptions.

The reverse showcases an assortment of colorized Ukrainian motifs, some centuries-old, that celebrate spring, family, life, and love.
