RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that tragically sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on April 15th, 1912 after striking an iceberg on its maiden voyage from Southampton, UK, to New York City. In 1997, the film “Titanic” (directed by James Cameron), was released with great success. It was the highest-grossing film of all time until 2010, and the United States National Film Registry later selected it for preservation for being "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant".
