The dingo originates from an ancient lineage of Australian canines that possesses a lean, hardy body adapted for agility, speed, and stamina. The dingo's habitat covers most of Australia, excluding the southeast, an area of the southwest, and Tasmania. At 3 weeks old, Dingo pups leave the den for the first time, and they soon begin to explore further away, learning how to navigate Australia’s unforgiving landscape while accompanied by their parents. By two months old, they’re much less reliant on their mother’s milk, and generally venture off on their own for good at the age of 3–6 months.

The obverse depicts the Jody Clark profile portrait of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, in front of a background of radial lines. She wears her royal crown and jewels.

The reverse presents a mother dingo sitting with its attentive pup in front of various wildflowers. Western Australia is home to over 12,000 species of native wildflowers.
