The obverse features Lady Liberty holding a flaming torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. In the background, we can see the sun rising and the Capitol building to the side. Inscriptions include the word "LIBERTY" and the year of mintage.

The reverse depicts the new reverse design of a bald eagle's profile. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" along with the face value and weight.
