Please note, this listing is for the 2021 Silver American Eagle with the New Reverse Design.
Presenting the 2021-W 1 oz Burnished Silver American Eagle Type 2 PCGS SP 70 FDOI. Now offered by Bullion Exchanges, this certified coin contains 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver. Each of these Silver Eagles comes with a Burnished finish, which means the planchets (blanks) were polished before the coins were struck, giving the finished product a "matte" appearance. Because they are all manufactured at the West Point Mint, each burnished Silver American Eagle features a "W" mint mark on the reverse. Adding to its collector appeal, this Type 2 Silver Eagle has been graded as a perfect SP 70 by PCGS with the First Day of Issue designation, indicating it was purchased within 24 hours of the coin’s official release from the mint. These are notably the very first burnished Type 2 Silver Eagles ever produced, further enhancing their desirability. Make sure to buy your 2021-W 1 oz Burnished Silver American Eagle Type 2 Coin today!
The obverse showcases a design by Adolph A. Weinman, the student of Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Known as the “Walking Liberty”, this design first graced the surface of Silver Half Dollars in 1916. On the Type 2 Silver Eagle, elements of this iconic obverse design have been modified to more closely resemble the original illustration. Lady Liberty walks straight ahead with her right arm outstretched, cradling branches of oak in her left arm. The U.S. flag billows behind her while the sun rises in the background.
The reverse displays the new reverse design by AIP artist Emily Damstra. A bald eagle flies through the air while carrying an oak branch. It appears to be coming in for a landing with its wings outstretched.
