Please note, this listing is for the 2021 Silver American Eagle with the New Reverse Design.
Bullion Exchanges currently offers the 2021-W 1 oz Burnished Silver American Eagle Type 2 PCGS SP 69 FS. Each of these Silver Eagles arrives with a Burnished finish, meaning the planchets were polished before the coins were struck, giving the finished product a “matte” appearance. This certified coin contains 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver. Produced by the West Point Mint, all Burnished Eagles feature a “W” mint mark on the reverse. This Type 2 Silver Eagle has been graded an almost-perfect SP 69 by PCGS with a First Strike designation, which means it was received for grading within 30 days of the coin’s official mint release. Additionally, these are the very first burnished Type 2 Silver Eagles ever issued from the US Mint, which makes them incredibly desirable collector coins. Make sure to purchase one of your own today!
The obverse showcases the design created by the student of Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Adolph A. Weinman. Known as the “Walking Liberty”, this design first appeared in 1916 on Silver Half Dollars. On the Type 2 Silver Eagle, certain elements of this iconic obverse design have been enhanced to more closely resemble the original image. Liberty strides forward with her right arm outstretched, holding branches of oak in her left arm. The U.S. flag billows behind her as the sun rises in the background.
The reverse presents the brand-new reverse design by AIP artist Emily Damstra. A bald eagle soars through the air while carrying an oak branch in its talons. It appears to be coming in for a landing with its wings outstretched.
