The front of the 1/10 Gold Eagle coin remains mostly unchanged with the Augustus Saint-Gaudens Lady Liberty design. The design was lightly refurbished, but Lady Liberty continues to walk towards the viewer with a flaming torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. Together, these objects symbolize the American adage of peace through strength. The sun rises behind the US Capitol in the background.
The reverse of the American Eagle gold coin displays the left profile of a bald eagle’s head. Inscriptions surround the eagle including the country, weight, purity, denomination, “E Pluribus Unum”, and “In God We Trust”.
