 Like the 1990 kookaburra silver coin design by artist Stuart Devlin, the obverse of this coin features a kookaburra resting on a tree stump over a backdrop of native foliage. Joining the local bird is the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, which is bordered by engravings of the anniversary years, the denomination, the Queen’s name, and simply “AUSTRALIA”.

 In a more modern light, this coin’s reverse features a brand-new design unique to this anniversary. Here, a kookaburra opens its beak for its signature laugh as a sunrise showers it with dynamic, stylized rays of light. Alongside the design are engravings of the weight, the purity, and the phrases “AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA” and “30TH ANNIVERSARY”.

This 2020 silver kookaburra coin is minted from 1 oz .999 fine silver and graded by PCGS at MS 70 FDOI. Not only is MS 70 the highest grade PCGS offers, but FDOI means that this coin was struck on the very first day of issue.
