The 1947 UFO sighting by pilot Kenneth Arnold prompted the beginning of Project Blue Book, the large-scale governmental investigation of UFOs. The obverse of the coin displays an elegant effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. She is surrounded by the inscriptions “SOLOMON ISLANDS”, “ELIZABETH II”, the year and the denomination.
