The Proof Platinum American Eagle - Liberty coin is the second in the beautiful new patriotic series from the U.S. Mint. This new series is aptly titled “Preamble to the Declaration of Independence Platinum Proof Coin Series.” The title is inspired by the handwritten words from the Declaration of Independence that includes the principles upon which the United States of America were founded on, Life, Liberty, and Happiness.

The 2019 obverse design portrays Lady Liberty keeping watch over prairies, lakes, and mountains as pioneers head westward. Lady Liberty’s lips are open which is meant to represent freedom of speech. Lady Liberty is also featured holding the iconic torch and book that represents the rule of law. Unlike the obverse side which will change every year, the reverse image will remain the same for the entire series (2018 - 2020).
