The 2019 P 5 oz Apollo 11 Proof Silver Dollar NGC PF 70 FDOI (Charlie Duke Sign) is a commemorative coin issued by the United States Mint to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.
The coin weighs 5 ounces and is made of 99.9% pure silver. The obverse side of the coin features a depiction of an astronaut's footprint on the surface of the moon, while the reverse side features a representation of the famous "Buzz Aldrin on the Moon" photograph taken during the Apollo 11 mission.
The coin has been graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) as Proof 70, which is the highest grade possible for a proof coin. "PF" stands for "proof," which means that the coin was specially made with a polished finish and a detailed design. "FDOI" stands for "First Day of Issue," which means that the coin was received by NGC for grading on the first day it was issued by the United States Mint.
The coin also features a label signed by Charlie Duke, who was a member of the Apollo 16 mission and one of only 12 people to walk on the moon. This signature label adds to the collectible value of the coin and makes it a unique piece of history.
