2019 1 oz Silver Lunar Year of The Pig Lion Privy BU Australian Perth Mint In Cap
Bullion Exchanges introduces this Chinese Lunar Calendar edition - the 2019 1 oz Silver Lunar Year of the Pig with Lion Privy. Additionally, this beautiful silver coin is .9999 pure silver and has a low mintage limit of 30,000.
On the obverse are a mother pig and her four piglets. The pig and her offspring represent loyalty, family, and generosity. To the left of the mother is the lion privy mark. Above her head is the Chinese symbol for ‘pig’. To the right is the Perth Mint ‘P’ mintmark. Finally, underneath her young piglets is the inscription “Year of the Pig.”
On the reverse displays, the magnificent Queen Elizabeth II, a design by Ian Rank-Broadley. Also on this side are the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II,” “AUSTRALIA,” “1 OZ 9999 Ag,” and “2019.”
The Lunar collection stems from an ancient calendar. This calendar rotates on a twelve-year cycle with the pig being the final sign. The other animals include the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, and dog. Those said to be born under the pig are gentle, generous, and loyal. Previous pig years include 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, and 2007. The 2019 Year of the Pig will run from February 5th, 2019 to January 24th, 2020. The cycle will then restart with the Year of the Rat.
