The obverse features Mexico's national Coat of Arms, a golden eagle perched on a cactus with a snake in its beak. Inscribed above is the words "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS." The coin's rim is surrounded by different Coats of Arms, used throughout Mexico's history.

The reverse shows the iconic Winged Victory "The Angel of Independence" design with the weight, purity, and year of mintage.
