This 2019 1/2 oz Australian Gold Kangaroo Perth Mint Coin is the latest release from the Perth Mint and a very popular gold bullion of Australia. The series was initially known as Australian Gold Nuggets at its inception in 1986 and featured actual famous gold nuggets found in Australia. From 1986-1989 it featured annually changing reverse images of gold nuggets. However, they were not recognized outside Australia, the Perth Mint decided to change the reverse design and feature a national symbol of Australia easily recognized around the world - Kangaroo.

The image on the obverse never changes and it is graced by a profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II created by Ian Rank-Broadley. The reverse features an annually changing image of Kangaroo, 2019 design presents a kangaroo bounding across a stylised rural landscape. Each coin design also incorporates the inscription AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO, the 2019 year-date, and The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

The coins are available in sizes of 1/10 oz, ¼ oz, ½ oz, and 1 oz. It is also available in a 1 kg size. The coins have limited mintage, and their reverse frosted appearance makes them an exceptional coin.
