This coin is the first of the stunning Queen’s Beasts series - the Lion of England, roaring as he protects the Royal Coat of Arms and coming in a new exclusive 10 oz weight. The designs of this series was inspired by ten heraldic sculptures, which stood guard in 1953 at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Each significant beast, used as a heraldic badge by generations that went before the Queen, was inspired by the King’s Beasts of Henry VIII that still line the bridge over the moat at his Hampton Court Palace.

This exceptional coin is struck by the internationally praised Royal Mint and is made from .9999 pure silver.

The reverse of this magnificent coin features the Lion of England holding a shield depicting the Arms of the United Kingdom, which includes imagery of the lions of England, the lion and treasure of Scotland, and the harp of Ireland. Inscribed is "2017" and "LION OF ENGLAND."

The right facing effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse, inscribed "ELIZABETH II, D.G. REG. F.D., 10 POUNDS."
