This 2017 Great Britain Silver Queen's Beast Lion is the first official UK ten troy ounce Silver Lion from the Royal Mint. The stunning Queen’s Beast series honors Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II by featuring the British Monarchy's Heraldic Beasts. These 10 Beasts were originally produced in 1953 and represented different clans, families and areas of the British Isles.

Today, the original heraldic creatures: the Falcon of the Plantagenets, the Griffin of Edward III, the Black Bull of Clarence, the White Lion of Mortimer, the Yale of Beaufort, the White Greyhound of Richmond, the Unicorn of Scotland, the Red Dragon of Wales, and the White Horse of Hanover can be found in the Canadian Museum of History in Quebec.

The Lion of England roaring as he protects the Royal Coat of Arms was the first bullion of this series. A stately portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is displayed on the obverse along with £10 (ten pound) denomination.
