The obverse depicts the well-known Taoist Temple from Beijing, the Temple of Heaven, particularly the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvest. This image is surrounded by the engraving “People’s Republic of China,” written in Chinese Characters, and the year of mintage.
The reverse displays the latest panda bear image, with a single panda sitting down on a bamboo background while eating a branch of bamboo. Inscriptions include the coin’s denomination, purity and weight.
