This significant 2017 2 oz Tuvalu Norse Goddesses Freya Antiqued High Relief Silver is the first coin issued in the brand-new Norse Goddesses series from the famous refinery - Perth Mint.
The Perth Mint has experimented with antique finish coins using a rimless design, and that technology continues with this this new coin. In Norse mythology, Freya is the goddess of love, beauty, fertility, battle, and even death. She is the leading goddess in the all-new Norse Goddesses collection of high-relief, antique silver coins from the Perth Mint.
The coin’s obverse features the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is captured in this particular design by Ian Rank-Broadley, and this 1998 depiction is the fourth-generation image of Her Majesty to appear on British and commonwealth coinage.
The reverse includes the image of the goddess herself with her sword in her left hand and wearing her magical feathered cloak. Also featured in the design is a cat perched on her right shoulder, her golden bristled boar "Hildisvini", a shield, and a battlefield in the background.
This coin was graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation as Proof 70 - a coin with no visible imperfections at 5x magnification. This amazing certified coin is encapsulated in NGC label and can be handled without the fear of damaging the surfaces.
Issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu, this coin would be a great addition to any precious metals collection.

The image is framed by the engraving “Freya” and the “P” mintmark.
