The renowned Australian refinery, Perth Mint, released a special silver coin featuring the world-famous and insanely popular Marvel hero - Spider-Man. This iconic character was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, first appearing in the 15th issue of the Amazing Fantasy comic book from August 1962. Lee and Ditko gave Peter Parker (the original character) super powers from a bite of a radioactive spider. As a result, the web-slinging hero gained the agility, speed, and strength of a spider, the ability to cling to most surfaces, along with a super agility 15 times stronger than of a regular human. He constructed his own “web-shooters” as well.
