2016 1 oz Silver Australian Kangaroo Obv Struck Thru NGC MS 69 ER Retro Holder (Mint Error)

This 2016 1 oz $1 Silver Kangaroo was graded by NGC as a Mint Error MS 69. Usually Mint State 69 means that a coin has a sharp strike with full original luster, with no more than two small non-detracting contact marks or flaws. However, this coin's obverse has a very noticeable strike thru, a fault produced during the application of the dies to the blank planchet during striking. This is highly rare, since Perth Mint is known for its exceptional quality regulations, and therefore it has higher collectability value.

The 2016 1 oz Silver Kangaroo Coin is the latest release in the Australian Bullion Program. The new Silver Kangaroo coin respects the exemplary design featured on the Australian gold kilo release for over two decades, and is the first-ever Australian coin to be stuck in .9999 pure silver.

The 2016 1 oz Australian Silver Kangaroo Coin gives collectors and investors the chance to get hold of Australia’s notorious marsupial coin in .9999 fine silver. Each 2016 Australian Silver Kangaroo Coin is composed of 1 troy oz of .9999 fine silver, and has been issued a face value of $1 (AUD) by the Australian government.  These superbly minted coins are also eligible for use in Precious Metals IRA accounts.

Initially perceived as an image of Australia in 1773, the kangaroo was authoritatively included in Australia’s Coat of Arms in 1908. Since its disclosure on the island mainland, the kangaroo has been revered as a symbol of Australian culture.

The kangaroo is the focal point of the 2016 1 oz Australian Silver Kangaroo coins reverse side. The force behind the jumping kangaroo is proudly exhibited before a completely risen sunburst on the 2016 silver coin. The kangaroo etching is perfectly engraved, catching the coarse and wooly surface of its hide. Inside of every sun beam is an inward facing plunge that further suggests the shifting rays of the sun. The outline is an interpretation of Dr. Stuart Devlin’s exemplary red kangaroo depiction imagined on the Australian Gold Kangaroo. The reverse side bares the inscriptions “AUSTRLIAN KANGAROO”, and “2016 1 oz 9999 Silver” on the rim. The obverse side of this meritorious coin features the effigy of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II”, “AUSTRALIA”, and “1 DOLLAR” on the rim of the coin. The reverse also features an additional counterfeit protection in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter “A” within the first “A” of “Australia".
