The Mexican Silver Libertad coins are a legal tender authorized by the Government of Mexico and are minted at National Mint of Mexico or Casa de Moneda de Mexico. They were first minted in 1982 and have been minted in a limited quantity every year in varying sizes. These coins are available as 1/20 oz, 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, 1 oz, 2 oz, 5 oz, and 1 kilogram coins. The Mexican Silver Libertad coins are spared of any face value as it was decided by Banco de Mexico from the beginning that the value of these coins will be based on market value or spot price with an addition of a small premium. The Silver Libertads are one of the most beautiful and desired coins in the Mexican coinage history. These coins were first minted in 1982 at National Mint of Mexico or Casa de Moneda de Mexico. The National Mint of Mexico was established in 1535 by the Spaniards and is one of the oldest Mints of North America and is active to the present day.
