The reverse artwork is based on the original 2012 designs used for the standalone Kookaburra, Koala, and Kangaroo coins, reimagined here with rich color to highlight the natural beauty of the Australian outback. Each coin features the Perth Mint’s historic “P” mintmark, reinforcing its authenticity and craftsmanship.
All three coins are legal tender under the Australian Currency Act of 1965 and share a common obverse featuring the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, along with inscriptions reading “ELIZABETH II,” “AUSTRALIA,” and the 50 cents face value.
