The 2011 Gold Mexican Libertad coin contains 1 oz. of .999 fine gold, graded a Mint State 70 by PCGS: a perfect coin, as minted, with no trace of wear, handling, scratches or contact with other coins. This unique coin tends to be highly collectible as it was first produced in 1982, and appeals to collectors and investors alike for its beauty and purity. This coin is produced by the Mexico City Mint, and with the low mintage this treasure coin of Mexico is highly sought out.
A significant landmark in Mexico City the obverse side of the coin boasts the "Angel de Libertad" holding a chain in her left hand, and a laurel leaf in her right with Mexican volcanoes Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl in the background. Inscribed on the obverse as well is "1 ONZA" (1 ounce), "ORO PURO" (Pure Gold), the year of issue (2009), and the fineness (.999).
Displayed on the reverse side are ten historical Mexican Coat of Arms with an eagle in the center clutching a serpent, which is the current coat of arms, and "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS" (United Mexican States) inscribed on this beautiful must have coin.
