Built by the Maya people of the Terminal Classic period, Chichén Itzá is a complex of Mayan ruins of a large pre-Columbian city on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. The Church (La Iglesia) in Chichen Itza is a small building located next to Las Monjas (The Nunnery). It has a single chamber and one access door, similar to a rectangular chapel (hence its name).
