The obverse features the face of a proud Lady Liberty with a small portion of her raised right arm. Inscribed on this side is "LIBERTY," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "IN GOD WE TRUST,' and the year of mintage.
The reverse depicts a soaring eagle as the sun rises to a new day in the background. Inscribed is "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," along with the weight, purity and denomination.
