This 2003 Great Seal of Canada Proof Coin is a beautiful piece of Canadian history.
It is a flawless reproduction of the royal seal that was produced for the Canadian government so it could bring the Queen's authority to any documents it may produce on her behalf.
On the obverse of the coin is a stately picture of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II along with the letters and words "D" "G" "REGINA". The letters "D" and "G" stand for the Latin words "DEI" "GRA". Thes words translates to "GOD'S GRACE". Also the Latin word "REGINA" translates to "QUEEN" in English.
This stunning coin's reverse bears the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, in her robes,and sitting on the Coronation Chair in Westminster Abbey,and holding the orb and scepter. It also features the words and phrases "ELIZABETH II" "QUEEN OF CANADA" and "REINE DU CANADA" which translate to Queen of Canada in English.
