This $20 Gold Double Eagle Liberty Head Type II is in Ex Jewelry Condition and is made from .900 pure gold.
The obverse features Lady Liberty facing left, wearing a pearl-studded Coronet with "LIBERTY" inscribed on it. Her head is encircled by 13 stars to represent 13 original colonies of the US. At the bottom is the year of mintage.
The reverse displays a heraldic eagle with a shield on its breast and holding olive branches and arrows in its talons. This design draws inspiration from the Great Seal of the United States. The words "IN GOD WE TRUST" are surrounded by 13 stars above the eagle. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the denomination.
