The obverse of each coin features a right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II, with the inscriptions "QUEEN ELIZABETH II" and "D. G. REGINA", as well as the date.

The reverse of each coin features a unique cougar design, with the inscriptions "CANADA" and the denomination of each coin.
