The 1982 1/4 oz Chinese Gold Panda NGC MS 61 is a rare coin now available at Bullion Exchanges. Struck in 1982, this coin was graded at Mint State 61 (MS 61) by NGC.

Gold pandas were first produced by the People’s Republic of China in 1982. The design changed yearly until 2001 when a design freeze was announced. Therefore the 2002 pandas were identical to the 2001 coins. After collectors spoke up in favor of the yearly changes, China returned to its original design policy.

The obverse features a panda holding a bamboo branch.

The reverse depicts the Temple of Heaven.
