On the reverse of the:

Gold Fifty Pounds is the ornamental stone balcony known as a characteristic feature of the Maltese streetscape. The stonework would later become outdated by wooden paneling and become the closed timber balcony of today. Believed to have originated in Valletta, the closed timber balcony has had its popularity spread from the city to outlying villages during the 18th century.

Gold Twenty Pounds is the Maltese freshwater crab (qabru) exclusive to specific locations within the Maltese Islands which include Baħrija, Mtaħleb, San Martin, and Lunzjata Valley (Gozo), where running water is present all throughout the year.

Gold Ten Pounds is the Peregrine Falcon (bies)  which used to breed freely in Malta. In addition, these falcons were used to hunt other birds and also became hunted themselves. Due to the fierce hunting of the Peregrine Falcon, they became protected by law in 1980.

On the obverse is the 1975 Malta Coat of Arms which features two dolphins supporting the Maltese flag, one using a palm branch representing victory and the other using an olive twig representing peace.

Like all of our other gold rounds, these are guaranteed to be 100% authentic. Item will be wrapped and packaged safely for delivery!
