1951-S Washington Carver 90% Silver Half Dollar 50C Commemorative Coin PCGS MS 66+

The 1951-S Washington Carver 90% Silver Half Dollar 50C Commemorative Coin PCGS MS 66+ is a beautifully preserved example of one of the scarcer issues in the popular U.S. commemorative half dollar series. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this coin contains 0.3617 troy oz of .900 fine silver and carries a face value of $0.50 USD.

This commemorative was issued to honor two towering figures in American history: Booker T. Washington, the educator and leader, and George Washington Carver, the pioneering agricultural scientist and inventor. Released between 1951 and 1954, the series had very limited production, with the 1951-S striking just 10,000 coins — one of the lowest mintages in the entire commemorative series. It symbolizes progress, education, and achievement during a pivotal time in the Civil Rights movement.
