Additionally, the note received a "Piece Missing" designation, as there is a small portion of the bill that is missing near the top. Only three series of $500 Currency Notes were produced: 1928, 1934, and 1934 A. This bill is a member of the 1934 A series, and its value as a collector item vastly exceeds its value as currency.
