Introduction:

The reign of King Edward VII is known today as the Edwardian period which was from 1901-1910. The coins from this period are also known as Edwardian coins. The reigning period was a short one of about a decade and in that the Sovereign coins for King Edward VII were minted only from 1902, hence there is a large demand for these coins. King Edward VII ascended the throne after the death of his mother Queen Victoria. Apparently, he had been heir to the throne for the longest period than anyone else in the Royal Family. Also in the British History, he was also the second oldest man to ascend the throne.
