The obverse features Lady Liberty facing to the left, her hair loose and going down her neck. Inscriptions include "LIBERTY" and the year of mintage.
The reverse side displays a bald eagle, wings outstretched with a shield across its chest, carrying an olive branch and a bundle of arrows in its talons. The denomination is inscribed below.
